We need your support!
Scribners Mill Preservation has filed a new application for a 3-foot fishway/dam. Despite what has been rumored in the media, this project has virtually NO IMPACT on the Crooked River Fishery and will allow a wooden waterwheel to power this historic site. We have brought in top specialists who have performed exhaustive research on this impact.  Our fishway was designed by the most widely respected designer in the United States. If you take the time to study every detail, you will find the truth.

On a recent broadcast on MPBN Radio, Nick Bennett from Maine Resource Council made the comment that we would not only destroy the fishery but also the water quality because we would create algae blooms in the river which would cause the water quality to deteriorate and force the Portland Water District to build a filtration plant which would cause the Maine citizens to pay $17 million to build.  THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE !!!

Scribner's Mill sawmill and homestead restoration.
America's last working historic sawmill?

Scribner’s Mill is to be an accurately reconstructed saw mill, powered by water using early technology to produce wood products. Once operational, the mill will be open to the public to demonstrate the antique machinery and the products produced from its early beginnings in 1847 through 1962. Currently, the homestead and mill structure are open 1-4 pm on Saturdays throughout the summer and during "Back To the Past" always the first weekend in August.
