South End Restoration Project

The south end of the mill is the final piece of restoration needed to fully restore the original mill. The board of directors has begun the application for a DEP permit to finish this restoration. Once the permit is obtained, SMPI will begin fundraising to restore the mill section. As part of the restoration of the south end, the sill on the east side of the existing mill will be replaced, as it is deteriorating.

The photo here shows the mill with the south end section in 1975 prior to its collapse.
